Juvy’s Story

My story is a fairy tale; I mean I cannot see it any other way. A long while ago I lost my mom who was also the provider, I was in primary school then. Life took a turn to the worst. My candidate year came & I sat my end of primary school exam also known as Kenya certificate of primary school exam. I had a pass and qualified to proceed to secondary school. Financially, that was to be the end of my journey in pursuit of formal education.

I had the chance to go through high-school, hand held by my OLPS-Kenya family & my family by love. They chose me & never gave up on me through all the seasons…even when I veered off track.

The future was bleak, dark even; I did not know who to turn to. At this point I know you are probably thinking of what my relatives were doing on this, happy to tell you that it doesn’t work like that for everyone.

First forward, after getting to the acceptance of the probability of not proceeding to secondary school I met OLPS-Kenya and started a new journey, a journey of hope. There was light again. A new beginning.

Through the stewardship of the OLPS-Kenya family, led by Sr. Anastasia, I began a journey of mentorship & providence; A journey that earned me another family, this time by love. I had the chance to go through high-school, hand held by my OLPS-Kenya family & my family by love. They chose me & never gave up on me through all the seasons…even when I veered off track.

My story is a fairy tale; I mean I cannot see it any other way.

I did finish high school, got to college, officially becoming a Kenya registered community health nurse and finally a graduate nurse (BSC), but most importantly an empowered Human, a beneficiary of a charitable act. By this I urge all touched & willing to hold someone’s hand do not hesitate, for the ability to empower a child & in turn bestow dignity o to life lies with you.

Forever grateful,
